Transfer Portal

So now that there is a dedicated spot to the Transfer Portal, here is a little info about it. Just because somebody enters the portal it doesn’t mean that the Player is leaving his team or institution. The portal is basically a way to show that they are leaving their school but most of the time even after they commit, schools are not good about going and changing their status to show that they have transferred. Therefore leaving more active players in the portal then there actually is. So unless you are very connected and close to the situation you might not know if this player is available or not for different reasons…

Now here are the 3 different statuses and what they mean on the portal.

ACTIVE – It when a student has entered the portal to leave their institution. Now a Student Athlete can request to not be contacted by schools but still be active in the portal.

MATRICULATE – For a student-athlete who transferred to your institution and now attending classes for the regular academic year. The student-athlete can be found in the OTHER TRANSFERS list.

WITHDRAW – For a student-athlete who entered the transfer portal and decided to not transfer. This student-athlete has remained at your institution and attending classes for the regular academic year. The student-athlete can be entered in the transfer portal again if the student-athlete decides to once again explore transfer opportunities.
