::That Dirty Black Bag. Description from Google:
A story over eight long days describes the encounter and clash between two men: McCoy, an apparently incorruptible sheriff with a dark past, and Red Bill, a dirty, taciturn bounty killer trapped in a desire for vengeance that cannot be fulfilled.
This is definitely not your daddy’s spaghetti western, but I’ve enjoyed quite a bit so far through 3 Eps.

::Moon Knight on Disney+ has been extremely fun so far
I have really enjoyed it too. I had to dig out my old Moon Knight comic books to show my kids. I have about 6 Moon Knight comics from the late 70’s and 80’s. Unfortunately the comic books still aren’t worth that much.

::I started watching the first episode of Saul last night and fell asleep. I’ll try again to watch. I hate these slow burn shows. The intros on the episodes really drive me crazy. Not sure why I got so invested in this show but I will begrudgingly watch to the end. The show does have it’s moments but they are few and far between IMHO.

It is equal to Breaking Bad at this point, given you KNOW what the end result is; the journey is the intriguing part, for more than just Saul. It’s an amazing show.

That’s a high bar. Part of the first episode was reestablishing the tone and storylines going into the new season. The end of the first episode and all of the second it’s game on. This is the last season so shits gonna get real quick. There’s also a slow burn that all of the characters use with a controlled emotion and never trying to give to much away to their rivals. There’s a scene with Mike and Gustavo in the trailer that tests that…you can feel their struggle to control their emotions. Kim, Mike, Lalo, Gustavo and Varga are the narrative driving parts and this show is lucky that all 5 actors playing those parts are absolute rock stars.

I have not watched any trailer, nor searched anything about the last season. I wanted to go in blind. Lalo is friggin’ entertaining as all hell. Kim…I don’t know what to really make of her, even at this point. She can go either way (and yes, I’ve heard about the Ice Station Zebra theory). I know Nacho’s fate is the big question. He doesn’t appear in BB, but is mentioned once. Once.

I also went in blind. I have rewatched the last ep of the previous season occasionally on some of my fave series but I don’t think it helps in the end. These complicated series’ have to recap at the beginning and that 3 minute bump is usually plenty good.

I do not want to miss ONE detail. The recaps just bring up what you may have forgotten about, so you know what the ep is going to entail. It’s a spoiler of sorts. I skip all that.

::I’ll file this here, I suppose.
Meltdown (Netflix streaming) 4 part series on the Three Mile Island nuclear meltdown. Pre-Chernobyl. The first 3 eps are very good, they…really show the good, the bad, and the ugly. Obv there is some bias against nuclear power, and between this, and the Chernobyl HBO series (based on fact) and the “Midnight In Chernobyl” book (which is an EXCELLENT in-depth, very in-depth read)…one constant: bottom line. That’s all that matters. :(

Finished it up tonight, the main whistleblower still proclaims that nuclear power is a good source of energy (and I tend to agree). But, no *bleepin’* shortcuts, you must do it right, or guess what? This happens. It’s not a tainted river or lake, people friggin’ die like crazy, and most likely, slow-roll/long-term.

::I’ve just started S1 of Tehran about a Mossad agent who infiltrates Tehran under a false identity to help destroy a nuclear reactor. I don’t know how much she’s involved but says Glenn Close is in the series as is Shaun Toub who was the scientist in the cave in Iron Man and played Majid Javadi in Homeland among other roles. E1 has been very intriguing and I will continue for now. S2 has had 4 episodes so far.

The theme was “dia de los Muertos” of sorts, the day the MCs honored their lost brothers. And boy, did it deliver on the theme of life and death. IMO, this series has surpassed SOA, despite it being a spinoff.

This season is building up to a big bang at some point within the MC. The one thing that doesn’t set right with me though is the thought that Chibs greenlit a war. I get why he would but I thought he would follow the thinking of Jax to keep a level of peace rather than stir up a war.

If it was just the Sons’ death, and the Mayans came forward to say what happened, that’d be one thing, but put into a barrel? That’s major disrespect. I think that was the key in the decision.

Good episode. Wondering about the Galindo storyline…I think Adelita storyline is done with, which is a plus, it served its purpose, but, who knows? Angel’s storyline, have NO clue where that’s going, other than the thing with Letty, WTF? And EZ/Marcus…this is really going to get interesting with that combo. Gilly and Hank storyline…they are about to blow up. I just don’t know how.
I hope that was cryptic enough.

I think the other creator/writer of Mayans is trying to end most, if not all, the Sutter storylines, for the most part, to concentrate on just the Mayans. In a series like this, viewers get kind of ripped off when it’s written away with a line of dialogue (SPOILER ALERT: like how Galindo is kinda mostly gone). Also see: the Adelita storyline that I mentioned.

I, for one, wouldn’t be upset if the Galindo storyline minus Emily would go away. There is plenty of storylines going on without the former cartel boss. Though I imagine that with Nestor now with Alvarez as a prospect that I see a meeting between those three coming up on the horizon.
As far as why I don’t mind the Emily storyline is for the same reason I liked the Jax/Tara storyline. I’ll admit I’m a sucker for the lead characters to find some happiness and I think that Emily and EZ have something that draws them together. I think it will have a similar tragic ending like Tara though.

We all know how Obi-Wan ends up. So, to me, the pain is part of the process. The payoff should be equal to how much he suffers in these eps.
