I need to get Pimento it’s been a while, you’re right about their jerk chicken and I assume the pork is just as good.

Also I hope they’re still doing ok but Harry Singh’s also has jerk chicken/roti and is really good, it’s like two blocks away from there. I remember when the owner told us to try the hot sauce (Caribbean Fire Pepper) and I was able to manage it (keep in mind the jerk chicken is already pretty spicy on its own), but it was definitely a notch higher than most “spicy” stuff in MN. I think he brought a bunch of water to our table and everyone downed it so quickly and he just came back laughing, now with a pitcher of water in hand.

Glad to hear, I’ll need to get takeout from there at some point.

:lol: I worked in restaurants for years. I’d NEVER order tuna salad, egg salad at one. And never get spicy tuna roll at a sushi place. It’s days old tuna with hot sauce to cover up the “old”.

While the suit seems sketchy since they aren’t releasing what they found, I also think it would be very easy for Subway to show what their ingredients are.

If it’s not actually tuna, that could make sense. But the allegation in the lawsuit is that it isn’t even fish, and any actually scientific test would show surimi as being fish, at least.

It’s a good list. I do miss working near Punch. I was starting to wonder if Mucci’s was going to make the list. They did and rightfully so. I had a Korean Rib pizza at Young Joni’s a couple of years ago that is my current gold standard for pizza.

The original Blue Door Pub in St. Paul (on Selby) will not be reopening. No mention of their other locations.

I’m not surprised this one is closing. It is VERY small inside and likely hard to have social distance guidelines and keep a profitable customer count.

Yeah, was a blast for Ocktoberfest in the tent and parking lot, then moving to the basement. Das Boot, the snuff, the decent German food.

Anyone else make it out to the River Inn in Hanover? My wife and I, along with another couple, had drinks and dinner there this past Thursday, and it was again well worth the rather long drive to get there. I had their BBQ ribs special, and my wife ordered a prime rib sandwich. The portions on each were huge, and in fact we each left with substantial amounts of leftovers that took us another two days to consume. One word of warning based on our first time out there: the place is packed on weekends. Arrive early or late.

My parents still say it, exclusively in reference to food. It does sound weird at this point.

My mom’s dad was a POW camp guard in the Philippines, and yeah same.

I see the word Oriental a lot in menu items and in other products (rugs, furniture).

Not to mention the dozens and dozens of Oriental markets scattered across the twin cities.

My wife & I went to Baldamar for dinner tonight. It’s a freestanding restaurant in the Rosedale parking lot. It was one of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in a long time. I would definitely go back.

Los Dillos hit up Bebe Zito in Uptown for the weekly burger pop-up, that everyone’s been losing their minds about for the past little bit here.

It was as advertised. The ice cream is phenomenal, and the burger might be the best one I’ve ever had. Highest of recommendations.

The burger group I’m in has had multiple thumbs up for that place.

Late post, but yesterday hit up Grizzly’s in Plymouth for lunch, had their Nashville Hot Chicken Mac’n’cheese. Perfect amount of heat, and it’s one of those bowls where you THINK you’re almost done, but nope, not even close. Definitely recommend.
