Not surprised, I think for my bracket Colorado and Calgary were the only one I had being a 5 game series (CO ended in 4). The others I had six or more, so not shocked by this many game 6’s. Usually even in lopsided series I account for goalies stealing at least one game though I didn’t realize Saros was injured. Also Oettinger with a .960 sv% is clearly why that series is close.

I think it was less.  Hextall brought it up to start the 3rd. So I looked it up…

Game 1: Only goal @ 10:03 in the 2nd (29:47 minutes)

Game 2: Shutout (60:00 minutes)

Game 5: First goal @ 6:49 in the 3rd (46:49 minutes)

So what’s that… 136:46 if my math is correct. Still nuts.

Still not a fan of the current playoff format.  Been this way for 8-10 years.  It should be seed the teams 1-8 in each conference. Not this play with in your division for the first 2 rounds.

Agreed especially when certain divisions are stacked while others are dogshit (everyone besides Calgary in pacific). You often have a first round matchup between two teams that have no chance next round while two teams that could be in conference finals face off round 2 (Colorado and Vegas last year). Given that schedules are already uneven in terms of difficulty due to divisions you already have an imperfect system but ensuring divisional matchups kinda compounds the issue.

NHL player safety and reffing is a fucking joke.

Theres no shortage of examples every NHL playoffs. McDavid got blatantly blindsided nowhere near the puck yesterday, Crosby got clotheslined by an elbow and has yet to return after dominating all series, this one, I’m sure there were a few in the wild series etc. It’s just embarrassing and while other leagues have their issues with reffing it’s not nearly as bad IRT keeping the star players healthy. It’s not just the refs either the league needs to enact meaningful suspensions and penalties for this kinda garbage.
