Natalie is originally from Toronto but moved to Texas. You can take the girl out of Canada but you can’t take the love of hockey out of the Canadian. Now in response to her clothing choice it’s hot in Texas.

Just realized the NHL created the perfect schedule for the first round of games. Every series has one off day between each game. Every day has 4 potential games.

Let’s not overthink this. A fan of hockey is worth celebrating.

Zach “The coach killer” Parise has struck again. It only took 1 year for him to get Barry Trotz fired on the Island..

And Pierre is out in Ottawa.

So a bad color commentator gets his first managerial job and is fired quickly? Shocking.

I’m sure this is what they would prefer and just got lucky with building schedules.

Honestly hilarious that the islanders fired Trotz, he has far more to do with their success than Lou’s management.

This comes up every year but it doesn’t seem possible that Ovechkin has never scored an OT playoff goal.

Well….she is awful 😞. Not nearly enough volume for the job, sounds like she’s standing 10 feet from the mic, and she goes long stretches without calling player names. When she gets excited, it’s like that sound your knife makes on a dinner plate that makes your teeth hurt.

It takes a special announcer to handle hockey…and she ain’t it.

To be fair, a lot of male announcers get ripped around here , too, not least out very own Anthony Lapanta and Paul Allen, to name only two.

Cruel fate in Edmonton. McDavid can’t get off for a change and gets beat for the game winner. Defense noticeably absent as well.

You get a game six. You get a game six. You get a game six. Everybody gets a game six!

First time since 2010 7/8 series made it to at least six games. Prior to that 1992 (all 8 series). Rare occurrence.

Not surprised, I think for my bracket Colorado and Calgary were the only one I had being a 5 game series (CO ended in 4). The others I had six or more, so not shocked by this many game 6’s. Usually even in lopsided series I account for goalies stealing at least one game though I didn’t realize Saros was injured. Also Oettinger with a .960 sv% is clearly why that series is close.

Did I hear correctly that before they scored their first they’d gone over 150 minutes of game time at home without scoring? That’s nuts.

Talking about female announcers… what happened to Gigi Marvin on BSN.  She seemed to have disappeared. Haven’t seen her do a Wild game with in the studio or press box for a while.  I liked her take on the game and what see brought to the press box.

I think it was less.  Hextall brought it up to start the 3rd. So I looked it up…

    Game 1: Only goal @ 10:03 in the 2nd (29:47 minutes)

    Game 2: Shutout (60:00 minutes)

    Game 5: First goal @ 6:49 in the 3rd (46:49 minutes)

So what’s that… 136:46 if my math is correct. Still nuts.

Yeah, Gigi is an analyst, so I guess Audra doesn’t effect things as much, we’ve obviously seen a steady diet of Parrish, Ryan Carter & Walz recently…

Still not a fan of the current playoff format.  Been this way for 8-10 years.  It should be seed the teams 1-8 in each conference. Not this play with in your division for the first 2 rounds.

She does not have enough volume in her voice to fill the microphone (other announcers do); she does hit an obnoxious high note when she gets excited (other announcers don’t); and she does go long periods without calling out names (other announcers don’t). Moreover, any of the criticisms I leveled against her may be shared by others and might equally apply to men.

Everything I wrote is an honestly held opinion about her job performance and has nothing at all to do with her gender. YOU made that silly extrapolation.

You go on trying to repackage responses to fit your baseless narrative, but keep your speculation about my family to yourself. You’re out of line.

Agreed especially when certain divisions are stacked while others are dogshit (everyone besides Calgary in pacific). You often have a first round matchup between two teams that have no chance next round while two teams that could be in conference finals face off round 2 (Colorado and Vegas last year). Given that schedules are already uneven in terms of difficulty due to divisions you already have an imperfect system but ensuring divisional matchups kinda compounds the issue.

Epic game 6 between Caps-Panthers. Tied 1-1 after two periods. Caps go ahead 2-1, Florida then ties it and goes ahead 3-2 with 5:43 left. Washington pulls the goalie, gets a PP and Oshie ties it up with 1:03 remaining. On to OT.

Theres no shortage of examples every NHL playoffs. McDavid got blatantly blindsided nowhere near the puck yesterday, Crosby got clotheslined by an elbow and has yet to return after dominating all series, this one, I’m sure there were a few in the wild series etc. It’s just embarrassing and while other leagues have their issues with reffing it’s not nearly as bad IRT keeping the star players healthy. It’s not just the refs either the league needs to enact meaningful suspensions and penalties for this kinda garbage.

OMG…Coyle receives a clean on the tape pass on 2-1 with gaping open net…and flubs the pass, doesn’t get a shot off  Canes lead 3-1 with 4 minutes left in 3rd period.

I really should go enjoy the nice weather but it’s hard with hockey available from 3 til midnight. 😁

I have the twins and Stanley cup game on simultaneously on the computer funneled to the big screen.  Wish I had a retractable roof. 😆

Does that yellow handmaid sign in the corner at Carolina say “Boston B-holes” ? Thats for Marchand right?

I like that he gets booed every time he has the puck. He deserves it.

    Bye bye B-Holes

OMG…Coyle receives a clean on the tape pass on 2-1 with gaping open net…and flubs the pass, doesn’t get a shot off Canes lead 3-1 with 4 minutes left in 3rd period.

That was with 9 minutes left and SHOULD have been a huge goal.

His chest pump on his 2nd career playoff goal was enough to roll your eyes. If he was playing in the State Tourney the crowd would be a buzz of where he was to play in college.

I think it was tongue in cheek as he looked like Kosmo Kramer on that goal and he mentioned between periods that he lost control of it before kicking it back to his stick.

Do the Oilers have their regular blue and orange set anymore, or only these ones that make them look like the Chicago Bears?
