::Why?
He loafed getting back on the 3rd goal and was a non-factor when he was in position

::Seems like there’s lots of options to free up cap space now…..
Except Guerin gave them all no movement clauses

I see that now. Giving up a 3rd goal is the killer when you don’t score any

That doesn’t mean they can’t be traded, it’s just harder.

He’s been bad all game. If you can’t see it, well I don’t know what to tell you.

::Playoffs sure haven’t benefitted Fiala. oh god… Wild defense sucks
It’s the annual Wild wilt.
Now we know why deano played Fleury
What can you say? They are not a playoff team. Foligno has been terrible, as has Dumba and Kulikov.
None of these guys are showing they are ready for or capable of a playoff run.
Fiala has flat out disappeared. Spurgeon had a year well short of his salary. Sumba ineffective. Geurin might just clean house.

I mean, so far the first one was the killer…

::Ouch. Ugly. Can they bench Brodin? Why is he out there and not Goligoski?

You could say, “if the team doesn’t score any goals, the goalie doesn’t matter”

::Coach E not receiving a great deal of love on social media this evening
Well, he had no answer for the Blues’ strengths so I would say it is fair.

::Kirill is probably thinking “why did I sign for five years here?” Seriously, what does it take to get past the first round?
LOL…ask the Maple Leafs…for a good non-answer 😂

::The Wild need to fire Dean Evason. I thought other than a piss poor effort in the second period, they fought hard to overcome his decisions. Flower as the potential savior on the bench was more valuable than he was as the starter. That may have been an older first time coach afraid to go against his GM, but overall, you have the Gardy of the Wild, a very good regular season record undone by the decisions of a second tier bench boss. We’ll see what moves happen this off-season. Now we have a mountain to try and move in Colorado. 😬

::Scott Perunovich played a very good game. This has been a heck of a series!
It’s been unusual (for me) pulling hard against two former Bulldogs…but I’ll be very focused on doing just that during the next 2-3 games! 🤣
If you want the Wild to win, then it’s easy to hope for Perunovich to be in the lineup.
If you can be impartial for a moment, would you agree that for being asked to QB a PP and play third pairing or less minutes, Perunovich did incredible? Krug is a name and is money on the PP, but I’d love to shed his contract this off-season.

::Wow…who could have seen this coming.
Talbot on not playing Games 1-5: "Obviously was I disappointed? Yeah. Pissed off? Yeah. But they expected that. They want you to be pissed off. I mean, who doesn’t want to play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs? But I respected the decision, of course.”

But to Evason it was an EASY decision!

I predicted Perunovich would be paired with Parayko (at some point) Perunovich QB’s PP superbly 👍 I’ll be rooting for the Blues over the Avs.

::We’ve heard all season how tight this team is, how much they care about and play for each other. It’s a lucky thing in moments like these. I’m sure they had a nice group hug in the locker room after the game.
Maybe we should have known. In that video clip that went around where Guerin asks his team, “Why are we here?” I believe it was the captain who responded, “To have fun!” When I saw that for the first time I imagined Billy Guerin as Dr. Evil reaching for the button labeled, “Jared Spurgeon.”
The real fun of NHL hockey – and the real pain for Wild fans – starts once the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin.

I’m fairly certain that was just Spurge messing with Billy G and not a serious comment.

He did fine for the player that he is, but it’s pretty tough to use words like incredible for a guy who played 3 minutes of even strength hockey.

They would be smart to figure out why we don’t match up well against certain teams.
They would also be smart to improve the special teams. That said, we are about to go into a dark period for talent as we suffer through hockey purgatory while Parise and Suter haunt us.
Hopefully we come out of this with nice draft picks and plenty of cap space in 2 years. I pray we don’t enter into bad contracts over the next 24 months and come out ripping in 2024.

By the time they get passed the buyouts, it’s a pretty safe bet that Spurgeon and Brodin will be considered bad contracts. Outside chance that Eriksson Ek will be as well.
