5 O.T.Blake Wheeler got his 500th point in the NHL the other night on an assist to Dustin Byfuglien. Blake is the 4th player from the 2004 draft to reach 500 points right behind Ovechkin, Malkin and Krejci. :shock:

Reilly won two All America honors for his offensive production. Skjei didn’t really play like that at the U, and as you point out, he didn’t get a lot of power play minutes anyway. The one thing he’s always had is that innate ability to draw in an opposing player and at the last second slip that deft little 10-foot pass to a streaking teammate. He also moves his feet incredibly quick for a big guy, not having to rely on those long, lumbering strides.

He has been remarkably consistent throughout his career and has been very close to a ppg player over the last three to four years. He’s also a very good captain.

While the way he headed to the NHL left a bad taste in my mouth, that was in large part directed at Garth who essentially seemed to have used the contract to bully Kyle into leaving early.
