Casey must be ready for the summer, he’s endured a 1-8-1 record his last ten games.
While I know he will miss playing for the Gophers…and nobody likes to lose…something tells me he’s enjoyed the last 5 games more than he did the first 5 games (of that 10 game stretch)

Wilcox is tied for the best save percentage in NHL history lol. Tied for second most saves among that group with 14. Most minutes played among that elusive group, 38:39, in NHL history.
That’s all great.. but he took the loss.

Maple Grove’s Jordan Gross signed a 2 year entry level deal with the Phoenix Coyotes. He’s the type of defenseman the Gophers should be trying to recruit.
The Gophers should try to recruit NHL signees?
Well if we’re going there we might as well aim high and go for sure-fire future HOFers! Gross’ playing style was great in college hockey, hopefully he’ll have a strong pro career!

Google hindsight bias when you get a chance.
Well, he still thinks the team is the Phoenix Coyotes, so…

So what happened?
I don’t know. I saw an article about Charlie saying he looked forward to playing with Ryan at the Worlds, and then Ryan was not named to team.
Charlie isn’t either from the roster I saw.

CM is hurt.
So he pulled a Gopher move and crashed a scooter like Budish & Conner Reilly .
 I don’t think Casey is injured.
LOL. He accepted an invite, but has the dreaded groin injury. ( well that’s what they said on NHL Network )

::Neat little story about Schmidt and Haula. I clicked on the YouTube link for the Schmidt goal video. I recognize the guy who took it. Clicked on his page and there is a video of the funnel chant, and it was after a goal by Haula from Rau and Schmidt. Small world sometimes.

They are buying (*Strong Possibility) him out for salary cap space. He’s 37, he could be done.

::From the NHLPA
Quote:“I am extremely disappointed to learn that I have been suspended for a violation of the NHL/ NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program. The fact that I’m issuing this statement is surreal to me as I have only used supplements provided by my NHL team and I have always been extremely careful about what I put into my body. Throughout my playing career I have been tested numerous times, including twice last season, and I have never before tested positive. It was utterly shocking to be informed that I tested positive for a microscopic amount of a tainted substance. Not only did I not intentionally take a banned substance, I could not have received any performance enhancement benefit from the trace amount that inadvertently got into my system at a level that was far too small to have any effect. This low amount was consistent with environmental contamination that I could not possibly have prevented.
One of the experts in environmental contamination who testified on my behalf at the Appeal hearing described the amount of the substance found in my system – 7 billionths of a milligram/mL – as the equivalent of a pinch of salt in an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Another expert analyzed a sample of my hair and concluded there was no evidence of intentional use. The Vegas Golden Knights track players’ strength and performance metrics and my results have remained constant over the past year.
While I support having a strong Performance Enhancing Substances Program in place for our sport, it is difficult to accept this suspension. I understand that I will miss these games, but I do not agree with the suspension and I will not accept being labelled a cheater.
I have worked my whole life to become an NHL player, and I’m extremely proud to be a player in the NHL. I have never cut corners in order to achieve this goal. I am grateful for the support of the entire Golden Knights organization and I can’t put into words how disappointed I am that I will not be on the ice at the beginning of the season to help my teammates work towards another Stanley Cup run.
I will make no further comment on this matter at this time.”
Honestly I just find the whole thing weird given that I didn’t figure the league tests for PEDs. There are so many guys in the league who seem like they’d be prime candidates for a PED test and nobody ever gets busted for it.

If what he is saying was true, everybody would test positive. Pro sports leagues make it damn near impossible to fail a drug test even if you’re actually using. The likelihood of failing one while not using is miniscule.

::I guess it’s hard to really form an opinion without knowing what the substance is and what the threshold for failure is for that substance (and whether that threshold makes any sense or not). I’d be curious to know more about the NHL’s doping policy and what the exact language is, especially when nobody I can recall has ever failed one in this league. edit: according to
(now two years old) the NHL’s doping policy has caught four people in the last ten years, all of which were fringe players basically. And they didn’t allow the World Cup of hockey to test their players.this articleBonin21
