If you’re interested in the Founding Fathers/ Revolutionary War/ creating a new nation, “Franklin & Washington: The Founding Partnership by Edward J. Larson is pretty good. Not as dry as you might expect of this genre, and doesn’t go into a lot of details of individual battles. More of a brief 300 page history lesson. I learned a lot of new things about Ben Franklin.
