Maybe the full no trade in yrs 4-5 make him a lock to be extended or traded in yr 3?
You can’t extend a contract in the NHL until the player has entered the final year of his current deal.
Thanks. Seems to give KK a lot of leverage at the end but at that point maybe it doesn’t matter as much.
He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the contract. He will have all the leverage. Actually it’s not even leverage. At that point he just chooses the contract he prefers best.
