I think the solitary wasp is close. These are smaller than a housefly, more like a black ant size. The pictures from the U don’t have the same Marlins on the abdomen, that don’t go all the way across (not quite a full stripe). But I will send pics to the U now.

I think you can send some stuff to Plunketts or other pest control companies as well and they’ll tell you what it is. It’s fortunately been a long time since I had to do that though
