How old is your panel? Breakers wear out. I have replaced a couple in my house since moving in. We have a circuit where the hair dryer and toaster on the same one and it trips daily. Finally had to replace it.

That being said, it happening all of a sudden with no prior trips is odd. Banging on a wall won’t trip breakers, no matter the age.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up being a miscommunication, especially if you have never had the problem before.
