Tiana is just a Slavic term for “princess” (short for “Tatiana”, a saint from Roman times). They had to call an audible after their original choice of “Madeline/Maddy” was considered to be too much of a slave name. Can’t find any relation to plants.

I mixed up my spelling. Tiare is the vanilla scented orchid.
