Years after surviving a childhood tragedy, two South African Zulu brothers fall on opposing sides of the law as a gang-linked crime tests their loyalty to one another.
Quite the drama here. The movie starts when the brothers were children, and builds slowly, until a jumpstart to when they are adults. Then it slows back down, chewing through the older brother’s actions, until the ending, where the final act really bursts open. Not only does this movie touch on blood loyalty, but also deals with the apartheid in that country, and the lives of those living in it.
It’s very good, but note: the dialogue bounces between English, Afrikaans, and Zulu (subtitles are there, obviously).
