Same here. I’m assuming they go with Staudacher and Fish tomorrow and take out Thomas and Mittelstadt? Maybe, maybe not. Chesley did not look like a freshman.
Not sure. I’d have a hard time taking Thomas out of the lineup after that game.
Chesley looked great, same with Snuggerud and Cooley. No surprises there.
I think Cooley momentarily cracked a smile after his first goal. Cannot confirm without replay though.
I subscribed yesterday to B10+ and used the app tonight w/Apple TV and it was excellent quality…no pixilation or other issues. I am a very happy cord cutter (You Tube TV) to have BTN and BTN+ to catch all Gopher puck games and not have cable TV to deal with.
While our Freshman are indeed getting their feet under them, Lindenwood was a stronger team than I expected, which is a good thing.
Definitely a solid start to the season. Nobody had a bad game, and the mistakes/flubs that there were all seemed to be from guys playing aggressively, and there seemed to always be someone backing then up.

2) After the 1st period he would not let the Gophers leave the bench to congratulate Close. He stopped them and made them go to their locker room.

Missed seeing the opening game, we’re up at the cabin. But, a cozy fire, listening to the radio over the internet, sipping 20 yr old port, a WIN! Im not complaining, nope, no complaints.

That 4th goal was a beauty. Not easy to move the puck to your backhand and chip it over a pad that close into the goalie.

Apparently, this is a point of emphasis this year? Frank/Wally were saying that the ASU/UMD game opening faceoff was 4x4, with each team having been given a penalty for not clearing the ice fast enough at the end of warmups

I watched the replay of the goals, Ekstrom the play by play guy seemed pretty good, no?
A very workman like performance last night. At times the Gophers had the puck in the offensive zone for what it appeared like minutes. Really like the #1 PP unit with the Farm Kid in front of the goalie. The 7-8-9 line (Pittlick, Snuggy, and Cooley) were flying. The 4th line also looked good. The only glaring mistake that I saw was when Thomas passed the puck to a Lindenwood player in front of Close. Kinda surprised that Staudacher didn't dress and unless he is injured I would expect to see him and also Strobel tonight.
I'm not going to harp too much on the arena experience since it was game 1 and football was played earlier, so I hope the overall quality improves for Kato. The Fanatics store is a complete waste of space though.

Fanatics apparel is absolute garbage. I remember being in my 20s and walking into a fanatics store and being so disappointed there wasn’t a single thing worth purchasing. It is embarrassing the U chose them as their official apparel provider.

Probably. But they’ll make those jerseys an embarrassingly bad knock off that may not even match the maroon and gold colors. Cheap

The other disadvantage of playing a team with this much of a talent gap is they can just be as physical as they want and be grabby because the refs won't call everything.

I get his use when he does play but it’s more of a who do you take out of the lineup thing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see 55’s toughness, grit and experience out on the ice next weekend against Mankato. I’ve always liked his game and I think he definitely still has a vital role to play in this team.
